    Basic Questions and Answers about ProbeASA

    What is a ProbeASA?

    ProbeASA is a tester which provides an efficient and most cost effective means of locating faulty electronic devices (components) in trouble shooting printed circuit boards.

    Whatis the technology principle?

    Using theAnalogSignatureAnalysis method, safe low power drive voltages are applied to a object (usually a pin of a device) to produce an “impedance signature” which is displayed as a curve on screen. The difference between a curve from a known good board and a curve from a faulty board in corresponding place suggests whether there is a fault.

    There are two benefits with this method:

    1. All testing is done with power off, it is very safe to use in any case.

    2. Users do not need to know much about the board circuitry.

    What are the main features of the ProbeASA?

    1. Working under support of database, as long as ASA data from good boards are saved in it, those data can be used as references at any time you need, just as you have good boards at hand all the time;

    2. All ASA data from trouble shooting faulty boards can be saved in database. You can review all test results after the process of trouble shooting any time you want, just as they are still being in the process;

    3. A board and each device on it can have its own “navigation information window”. Users can put anything in it as long as they benefit later on testing of the board or devices, such as write text in it, cut part of screen which contains ASA curve(s) and paste onto it, and insert graph files into it. The feature of one mouse click/key down invoking navigation information offers users a very efficient management system for electronic repairing.

    4. Most of operations are conducted by the picture (image) of the tested board, so it has more friendly user interface, and is easier to use. As a result, users can work more efficiently.

    How to construct test system?

    ProbeASA is designed to run under the control of a microcomputer within the WindowsXP and up operating system. Both communicate via a USB interface.

    What is the size?

    260*175*45mm
