The main problem is the structure of the phase-locked loop Tesla coil. First of all, it runs continuously (CW mode). This is different from the ordinary pulse test Tesla coil. A Tesla coil arc like this continuous operation is in a mass, and the temperature is extremely high, the power is very high, and the air around the arc forms plasma! The high temperature is not only the arc, but also the heating of the coil itself is very high when the whole coil is running. The working pressure of the overall circuit can be said to be quite large, which leads to the fact that neither traditional acrylic or PVC skeletons can be applied to this Tesla coil, because they are not high temperature resistant materials, and they will melt and burn after running for a while! In order to find a high-temperature-resistant insulating material, it took a lot of effort to experiment with more than 10 different materials. Combined with the experience in the experiment, the use of quartz glass as the skeleton material of the coil was finally determined.
For the new product, we use quartz glass as the coil frame, and adopt a double-layer structure. The secondary coil is completely wrapped in the quartz glass sleeve. Quartz has the advantages of high temperature resistance, high voltage resistance, low dielectric loss, etc., while the secondary discharge Duancai's phlogopite board has higher temperature resistance than the old epoxy board!
